Looking into buying one on craigs
i had just bought my s300 when i ran into a problem , the little metals that grabb the chip were burnt? due to some ameture job so it wasnt grabbing the s300 and the red light on the s300 is always on.
okay now that iam going to buy a p28 is their any Things i should look out for? ( pics would help my n00b *** )

* The Ecu iam intrested is a virgin p28 for sale , so i want to know how i can make sure it hasnt been tamperd or messed with

Any help would be gladly appretiated

This is what an un-chipped ECU should look like.

The first picture where you can see the lettering 74HC373 & 27256 that is where there would be two chips if the ecu were modified/chipped. The last picture shows a complete chipped/socketed ECU.

The area in the white box is what is pictured in the above link. The three white lines are items that will not be present on a virgin ECU.

Just a little FYI to help you out and save some headaches... If you are looking into installing your S300 into another ECU, there are several site sponsors that offer P28 ECU's already setup for plug and play installation of your S300. This will be much easier than finding a virgin P28, sending it off to get socketed, shipped back, and then installing...

Thanks! i had a deal 500$ for the s300 into a virgin p28 with a light tune so yea
but my p28 that i had was bad so thats the reason i went out and bought a cherry p28 and got evertything done today
