Whenever I open my sunroof while driving everytime I hit a bump it rattles. You can close it and no rattle. I've tried it open 1/4,1/2,3/4, and full open and get a rattle. Is there a way to stop this? I did a search but all I got was about chatter when opening and closing the roof.

 

try to grease the tracks that the sunroof rolls on.

 

I do what I always do when my car makes noises and I don't care to hear them. Turn up the radio and they go away.

I've been doing that but when my daughter is in the car I can't so I have that annoying rattle.

Yea sorry I couldn't be much help. Mine has started to do that with age and probably a little grease could improve the situation. Good Luck

I'll do the lithium grease tomorrow and let you know if it helps. Maybe its an easy fix for the both of us.

 

i just fixed mine.. pull off the sunroof liner and take off the 8 bolts holding the sunroof on, lift the sunroof off and tighten down the 8 screws on the sliders. It should be obvious which ones need tightening because some of mine were halfway out of their holes.

by sunroof liner do you mean the edge on the inside of the car atached to the headliner? i was lookin at my sunroof and tryin to figure out how to take it out, but i quit after 2 minutes.

 

so the edge on the inside of the roof around the sunroof opening, you can just pull it off? then you can get at the screws? im really getting sick or the rattling.
