Default **brake light comes on prematurely**

once in a while it just started happening, i have a 5th gen 99 lude, and in the morning when i start my car and get going, my brake light just stays on. and i do have the emergeny brake donw ,so i drove for awhile like 10 min and it goes away. then i start braking sometimes, and it comes on , then goes away. any 1 have any ideas on whats going on.
** i have checked all the lights to see if there was a short, no luck, i checked all my brake lines to see if i could find anything, no luck.
my friend said he had the same prob in his 97 lude occasionally, but it seems to happen to me more. like on a daily basis. its starting to get really annoying.

check the brake master cylinder reservoir. if your brake fluid is low it can cause the light to come on. i don't know why it would be going off and on, but something to check. also, do you have abs? perhaps one of the sensors is bad or something is interfering with it.

ive checked all the fluids and everything is fine. what my friend said was the sensor reading the master brake cylinder fluid is shifting around so much because my cars lowered that its trying to have a proper reading, but the weird thing is my cars been lowered for over a year then it started bout 1 month ago.

How low is your brake pads? I had this happen when my pads were very low and even though my brake fluid was past the min mark when pressing on the brakes during a turn would bring the light on. It's just the matter of your pistons having to be moved that much further due to the brake pad wear.

abs is working fine. its just really random. but liek i said, ill look into the brake pads, but if i take the cap off the brake resovior,m the light goes away. l think its a pressure sensitive build up, and when taking off the cap its released
