Default Reverse switch Test

I was hoping to get some attention here with my new purchase. Can somebody tell me if there is a way to test the reverse switch to see if it works?

I dont have reverse lights, I jumped it at the connector and they go on, so it leaves the switch itself. Should i hit the scrap yard for a replacement? How often do they go bad? Shold i buy a new one? Where would you recommend?

Replace it with a new one, although one from the bone yard will be cheaper and most likely as dependable. 94
