I have a 93 Del Sol SI with 330,XXX miles. Recently the CEL came on and the car started to run rough. The light flashed 4 times. So I took that to be a code 4, which is TDC sensor or Crank Position sensor. I looked in the shop manual and had the parts department at a local dealer look it up but nothing could be found. The car also quit running. It will fire up for about 2 seconds then die. After that it will crank no start. Then I have to let it sit and try again in a couple of hours.
Where is the TDC/CKP Sensor located? Also could I have a bad distributor? I have heard that the early-mid 90s D series engines had distributor problems.

Code 4 is the CKP sensor, its in the distributor. You can't buy just the sensors, you have to buy a distributor, or if you have another bad distributor you can swap one of the sensors out of it. (CYP/CKP/TDC sensors can all be used interchangeably)
hey guys, i have a '00 civic and i'm having ckp problems too. i'm throwing out a p0335 code, so i changed the ckp sensor that is behind the crankshaft pulley/ within the timing belt housing. was that the right one, or should i be changing my distributor like mentioned above?
thanks for the info! any idea whether p0335 is refering to the one in the distributor or the one that i replaced near the crankshaft?
if it is in the distrib. then i need to replace the whole thing right?
sorry im really new
