Default civic starts then cuts off

hey guys, so i parket my car the other day and got back into it 15 min later and it started but cut of a second later. Didnt matter if i hit the gas, it would still bog and cut off. That day i ran on e and filled up so i thought it was the fuel filter. I changed it the next day and it did the same thing. later on i noticed if i keep the clutch pedal in and keep the key turned all the way, the car stays on... but if i let go of either, it cuts off. I also tried a different ignition harness, but that time it would just crank and not even turn over. Im starting collage tomoro and i got work so please help me out guys!! thanks in advance. o also it looks liek the clutch ignition switch is a little wet, but if that goes bad i believethe car wouldnt even crank...

Any CEL codes?

Running the tank completely out of gas can destroy the fuel pump, so you may want to measure the fuel pressure.

Is it a quick blink or a long blink.

That's intake air temperature sensor and may cause bogging. Try taking it off and cleaning it, if the code doesn't go off buy a new one.

o ok. could it cause the car to turn off like that? or will that just solve the bogging

ok so i checked my fuel pump, and its not making that like 2 second noise when i put the car in run...i checked if it had spark and its there. theres fuel pressure on the fuel filter...and going into the injectors...could injectors be bad? i noticed before the car wouldnt start, when it did it was kind of hesitant

That's code 1 for the O2 sensor circuit.

If the fuel pump does not prime, then you would have no fuel pressure. If the fuel pump does not run but has battery voltage and good ground, then it is toast.

When i asked him if it was a quick flash or long flash he said it was long, so wouldn't that be 10?

well it doesnt make that noise, but the fuel filter has pressure for a second and then looses it. could it have anything to do w/ my map sensor, fuel relay, main relay, whatever?

Remove the fuel fill cap and put your ear to the hole while a buddy turns the key from off to ON(II). Do you hear any low humming noise for 2 seconds?

i took the backseat out and i looked at the 2 connectors and they r SUPERRRR dirty inside.and i can somewhat hear teh flow going through the fuel pump. sounds a bit rough though, like not a perfect stream. stil cant hear it eengage when i put car in run position

If the fuel pump connector has battery voltage on the power wire and good ground on the black ground wire, then the fuel pump is toast.

Your ignition switch is fine because you have spark at the plugs. Again, you likely fried the fuel pump by letting the tank run empty. There's all kinds of almost dead. Your fuel pump is almost dead not completely dead. But for all intents and purposes, it's dead. You can verify that it's almost dead by doing the voltage and ground tests on the fuel pump connector as I have already mentioned. If you are not willing to do some electrical testing, then you are left to guess and replace parts at random ($$$). It's your choice.
