Multiple problems 2001 civic vtec ex?
New too this thread having a problem with my mothers car started with the compressor motor locking up and then smoking the belt and died. Well I took the belt off and the clutch and or compressor bearing is locked up.
So I decided too put a belt on from the altenator to the crank well it runs and charges but I drove it a little then got into it going up a hill then the interior alt/battery light came on then the check engine light.
I made it to the gas station shut it off. Restarted it and I gave it a rev then the battery light went out.
But, the Tach and Fuel gauge went out also when you go over 2000-3000 rpm just guessing the car surges loss of power.
Got home put a scan on the ECU but keep coming up with ERROR CODE.
It sounds electrical in nature but, unsure Any Idea's?
Please Help!

Not without the surging and loss of power. The altenator is putting out at idle read at the battery around 13.8 or 9 that seems ok to me. Like I said the fuel gauge and tach are not working everything insturment wise is working. Could be a fuse I didn't check that yet.
Seems like you were right on this because when I put the belt on it ended up stretching and hence the low charge. Now the problem is the battery light is still on. I hope it's not over charging now at idle it reads 14.5volts.I don't have the manual to check the proper voltage output at a given rpm or charging amps.
