no vtec after swap im lost
so i have a 95 civic ex coupe. i just put an obd1 b16 in it. everything works fine except vtec. it throws a code 22 for the pressure switch.
things i have tried:
Vtec pressure switch
Vtec solenoid
New oil pump with new oil
Different vtec ecu
checked wires going to the pressure switch. they are good.
i dont know what else would make vtec not work. im at a loss for ideas. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I used the solenoid that came with the motor and a different one I had laying around. They both had pressure switches on them and I don't have acces to a jdm ecu

USDM ECU looks for a vtec pressure switch.
3 ways to fix this.
1. Replace the JDM vtec solenoid with a usdm vtec solenoid that has the pressure switch.
2. Replace the USDM ECU to a JDM ECU.
3. Do this quick fix. http://www.phearable.net/tech/wiring/vtpsbypass.gif
I would prefer option 3 first if your on a budget. Guaranteed to work! Make sure you unplug the battery before you do this and reset the ecu once your done so the CEL goes away.

Why would he replace the gasket? and what gasket are you talking about? brake booster has nothing to do with the CEL 22 code which is vtec pressure switch code. A vacuum leak doesn't cause that either.

u should try it with a different ecu especially with that harness.. let me guess u have like 6 extra plugs thats not plug in right?? that p72 is look for those plugs since the gsr intake manifold is different and has more sensor on it
Did you do the vtec pressure switch bypass trick as I mentioned above? this is a common problem believe it or not and I must have answered 100 of these types of questions because they are easily solved and its nothing new... its an age old question after a swap youll hear over and over again
Only way to tell if your ecu is jdm or not.
example-
USDM ECU 37820-P72-A05
JDM ECU 37820-P72-005
Did you catch that? USDM ECU has a letter after p72. JDM ECU's have numbers instead. FYI that is the number zero and not the letter O

Hes using a gsr harness because it has all the necessary components in order to make a vtec motor work. All integra harness will work with 92-95 civic motors. It doesn't matter if he uses a gsr harness on a non gsr motor.
Are you serious? you been a member since 05 and you can't understand that a usdm ecu looks for the pressure switch when a jdm ecu doesnt? Its so simple people.
EVERYONE READ WHAT I ALREADY POSTED ABOVE, POST #9
wow, you're a lil high on your horse, arent ya? we're all here attempting to help the guy. no need to get fussy. annnnd my buddies OBD0 b16 had a pressure switch as did another of my friends obd1 GSR swap.
i might have been a member since 05, but that has little to do with the scenario at hand. for all my swaps I've used the correct ECU. for example in my personal car, I used a del sol vtec engine harness and usdm p30 ECU on my b16a3 swap. once started I got a KS code, ran wire from shock tower plug to ECU and fixed that.
no need to get snippy and talk down to people. i personally would not use a gsr ecu on a b16 w/o it being chipped/socketed/tuned. thats me though.

Why would you ask a question such as: I have nothing else to say after reading that... it speaks for itself regarding your experience
