Default Flywheel/pressure plate fitment issues

So I ran into a bit of a problem....

There are alignment pins that come out of the new XTD flywheel that are too big for the Exedy OEM clutch/presssure plate. On the old flywheel, the pegs look like they were cut off and now sit flush with the flywheel surface. The screw holes on the pressure plate line up on the old and new flywheels

The new XTD flywheel lines up with the screw holes and pegs of the old one, and bolts up to the engine just fine. The pressure plate lines up with the alignment pegs/pins and with the screw holes on the new flywheel, but the alignment pins are too big to fit in the holes on the pressure plate.

Old FW, you can see the pushed in pegs. Upper left...Upper Right...and bottom center

I suppose you could:

A) drill pressure plate holes out large enough to fit over the flywheel dowels.

B) buy the XTD pressure plate that goes with the flywheel.

C) return the flywheel and cut down the one you were using to the desired weight you want. This can be done using a brake rotor lathe. You take meat off the back side of the flywheel. I've seen this done on a few friends' cars and it worked great.

Thanks for the reply!

A) I'm itchin' to do this, but I bet that'll void any warranties with it.

B) True, but it seems XTD doesn't make very good clutches.

C) This is what I would have done, but someone already resurfaced the flywheel, and didn't do it right. I'm pretty sure the old flywheel is my main problem.

I was hoping someone had run into this problem and knew a quick fix. Guess I should just wait and call Exedy & XTD on Monday. Dang it, I want progress!! *Sigh*

ninja edit: is it just me, or is only one picture showing up?? there should be three....

Yeah I have the pp lined up properly (and there IS a right way). The pins line up with the pp's holes but the pins are too big to fit. Same with the original pressure plate.... it lines up but the pins don't fit.

The strange thing is, the original flywheel's alignment pins are ~8mm wide and the XTD pins are only 6mm wide.

I dunno  Tried calling both Exedy and XTD today, at several different times.....no one answered....*sigh*
