Can't find CEL blue connector for engine codes
Ok so my story is simple, i have a chipped p28 ecu, it currently has no CEL and is running great (except for the 2k idle)
i go on to phearable.net and order another chip so i can change the idle, vtec engagement, 2 step, etc..
2 days later i receive my chip and put it in the ecu. upon starting it i get a CEL.
i go to phearable and they say, check the CEL for engine codes, so i go under my dash and my glove box, find a green plastic thing with two plugs, and i take the smallest plug out and bridge it
nothing happens, no blinks, just the same solid CEL..
And just out of curiosity, i tried bridging it with the old chip back on (the one that doesn't give a CEL) and all i get is solid CEL as long as the cable is bridged.
so i just have a few questions, am i not getting the right plug? does it seem like a bad chip since the old chip works perfectly fine? am i asking too many questions?

ok so i believe i solved the mystery, here is what happened
my 1993 del sol swap was originally an automatic transmission. when the mechanic went from auto to manual, he didn't know he was supposed to swap the chipped ecu as well (at least guess so) from the p28-a57 (auto) to the p28-A01 or A02 (manual).
When ordered the chip online i assumed he had a manual p28 which of course, he did not. so when i added the chip, all i got was a CEL.
Does this make sense? or is having an auto p28 ecu and a manual p28 ecu not matter with the chip?

how were u running that auto ecu in a 5 spd car and not getting a cel should of blown a code for valve bodies locked or something i forget the acctually code i'd say get a new ecu or try a buddies ecu.....

I hope that they just converted the auto ecu into a manual by switching the resistors.... but then again.. it wouldn't be throwing the CEL with the new chip...would it?
Worse case scenerio (my mechanic knew mechanics.. just crap about electronics) is that he changed everything, got the CEL and did something to the internal cableing or harness to remove it or "fix" the problem..
i need your input guys, i really don't know whats going on
