Default Having a steering issue! Please help

Hey hows it going, i havent been around in a while... I have a 1992 civic vx that i just bought and it was making a weird sound when driving. A friend said maybe the wheel bearing so i replaced wheel bearing and inner and outer tie rod ends on drivers side. The Steering wheel seems to have a dead spot in it where i turn and the wheels dont move, also during installation of the tie rod it seems to have some play in the rack. Is this something that can be adjusted or do i need a new rack? Thanx alot

My friend got a car that was like this, and the only thing we could think of to fix it was a new rack, and it did fix it.
