Default Some ?'s About LSV All Motor Setup

Hey everyone,

prob getting a 94 eg with a ls swap this weekend. It has high compression pistons a bunch of port work, fuel pump, injectors. Quick for a non vtec. Anyways i wanna do a ls vtec all motor with the possibility of low boost later on.

The ls is obd1. I have been trouble finding vtec heads that are obd1 since the majority i see for sale are obd2. I know that i will have to het a vtec ecu and use an obd 2 dizzy. Also theres something i need to do to the iacv wires sincew i think one has two and the other has three wires but my main concern is getting it done right

1. do i have to get new injectors?

2. not sure about wiring a obd2 head to a obd 1 engine... do i have to replace the engine harness to be able to hook up vtec and the other wires?

tried searching for a obd2 head on a obd1 block but didnt see much.. probably better off finding a obd1 vtec head but like i said havent seen any for sale

just to let you know the only things that make a head obd1 or obd2 is the intake manifold and the injectors both which can be changed so it wouldnt matter if you get a pre or post 96 head

well i have rc 370's or something along those lines in it right now... so your telling me that they wont work if i switch to an obd2 head?

anybody use vtec controllers?

also, does it matter what water pump/ oil pump i go with depending on head? my installer told me to go with the itr water and oil pump and that i would need a gsr timing belt because of the teeth on the water pump. does that mean i need a gsr or itr head? i was thinking of getting a b16 head since they are a bit cheaper.

Whichever head you decide to go with, get the matching water pump and timing belt for that head... the ITR oil pump may be capable of a better oil flow rate or something. But a GSR oil pump would be fine too.

As far as the OBD2 vs. OBD1 head with your RC 370 injectors...
It is the injectors and intake manifold, etc... that determine whether or not the head is OBD1 or 2... for example you could take a 98 GSR head (OEM=OBD2) and change out the injectors and intake to ones from an OBD1 head, and now your factory OBD2 head will operate as an OBD1 head....
Dig?
EDIT:
Do some research to be sure but from OBD1-OBD2 there may be a difference in the Distributor and VTEC solenoid as well... I am not positive...
