Let me clarify. For some unknown reason, your steering wheel was probably just taken off and the person either didn't care about the light or didn't know how to turn it off. When your srs system is messed with, the light comes on. If you turn it off and it stays off, that could be the issue. You can open the wheel after inspection to see what was the issue.

http://www.dmv.de.gov/

Should provide you with the information your looking for, and if not theres the contact section. Someone there should be able to answer your question. I would try resetting the light though to see if it stays off. I am also from DE and can say ive seen plenty of cars pass inspection that shouldnt have.

i had my srs light on in the past in DE its not required and they dont test for srs light. maybe things have changed but last time i went i passed with it on. you should be fine. usually all it needs is a reset mine did this one time when voltage dropped because of an alternator

If your just trying to get rid of the light, pull the cluster and take out the bulb.

A much better option than mine, unless you swapped to a non airbag wheel like I did, lol.

The SRS light usually is a deal breaker for inspection in most states... But as everyone knows, the inspection stations are not always strict about things.. The SRS light shows when something has gone wrong in the system.. Mentioned above was the steering wheel... The airbag system has sensors in different places throughout the car... The light can come on at times when it gets confused... In my case someone ran me off the road... It didn't think it would have busted the sensor, so I ran the reset sequence and walah, no more SRS light... If the sensor had been busted, it would have been a costly sensor repair and likely trip to the stealership... So look for things like airbag delete, aftermarket steering wheel with no airbag, etc... I would attempt the reset sequence before buying this car... If the owner won't let you do it, I'd pass! Just my opinion...

There's plenty of members from DE. I'm one of them, though I no longer live in the state.

DE inspection is pretty easy, so I'd believe the guy who said earlier that you can pass with the SRS light on. There's no harm in calling the DMV and asking though.

The answer is easy, be a dick and take the bulb out of your dash that is behind the srs light, no more srs light......

^A reset is easier but still, that is the perk of having an EK. Good thing I live in none inspection/emission county. W00T.

I'm not sure about DE but being a inspection tech. in PA having your SRS light on still passes the inspection part because SRS/airbag system is consider an option not a safety concern so I believe it would be the same in DE because PA have stricter laws and it still passes so I believe it would pass, that's my thoughts don't hold me on that.

I believe you can bypass it as well if it has an issue
