I have a 93 prelude has the H22a swap but still has the usdm h22 tranny. today it locked up on me and this is where it sits now... Is stuck in third gear, i can start it with the clutch in and clutch works fine but when i try to go it goes a few feet then locks up and shakes really bad. somethiing is catching and wont let it move far. i cant find any other gear, shifter is stuck where it is and cant even tug on the cables in the engine bay to free it up. (cables are good) has a new clutch and flywheel and master slave. Im not too familiar with cables trannys but where the cables hook up on the tranny can something in that box get worn out? or is it the tranny itself. i have never had a problem with it in the past, no grinds or anything. let me know what ya guys think. i am taking it apart tomorrow but trying to figure out what i should look for first before i pull the tranny.

 

sounds like you broke a selector inside the transmission, cheap part, lots and lots of labor.

 

i would try to grab the shifter box ontop of trans and see if you can get it to move, maybe rule out possible stretched cables or somehting. jlude might have tagged your issue tho

 

rock the car front and back while trying to pull it out of gear

 

Who installed the new flywheel and clutch?
