Default Rough Clutch Engagement

Sorry for the long post but Ive been having some transmission problems on my 02 Si.

My problem first started when I went to overtake someone and I downshifted from 5th to 3rd and 3rd gear wouldnt engage. Shifting between all the different gears is really stiff and notchy and some of the gears wont engage unless I double clutch or float-shift. Its like the synchros are toast, but it was shifting fine a few hours before. Then I started noticing that whenever I first get moving the clutch engagement is rough. It seems to chatter but then it holds. The clutch doesnt slip.

Im wondering what the problem is. Im gonna do a tranny flush because Im coming up on its service interval, and I hope that it will help with the synchros. But Ive never had that problem before and Ive always been very religious about maintenance. So for the rough engagement could it be a slave cylinder or do I need a new clutch?

The rough clutch engagement problem is intermittent though. The rough shifting is consistent though

No, Im the second owner. I purchased the car about 10 months ago and it had 78k miles on it at the time. Ive read that clutches usually start to go around 100k miles give or take, depending on the driver. But I always thought they would slip or chatter constantly not intermittently. And I have no clutch slip just occasional chatter.

I usually shift around 2500-3000 rpm
And I dont really beat on my car much. Dump the clutch every now and then, but very rarely.
