yeah just make sure the output shaft seals are in good condition. also inspect the clutch for damage and just replace the throwout bearing. not sure but you might need to reuse the axles from the d15. It'll work great but you won't really have much power with that tranny. It's the same setup I have now and I recently drove my buddy's hatch with the si tranny and almost cried at the difference lol. good luck

Bolts right up and functions properly, but the gearing sucks.

I'd swap an EX transmission into a DX before I'd bother swapping the engines themselves.

the dx tranny gear ratio for the 2nd and the 3rd are really close to each other so you wont have much of a pick up when you shift gears. besides that, the tranny is a straight swap. you dont even have to change clutches of nothing.

not true. the difference between 2nd and 3rd gears is large enough, not to mention the final drive is longer on the dx trans. together you have quite a big difference in gearing.

all in all though, it's nothing great. Honestly, I'd rather have the original z6 tranny and swap out the dx final drive.

lol if you're confident enough to open up a transmission and do it yourself or spend the money to have someone reliable to do it. do you have the original? does it grind at all?

You could do that, if you want to go slower . . .

It's only the final drive.. you still have all the fun of the 1-4 but you can still go on those long night drives and still be at like 3k going 80 but to each his own.

Not really sure but I think the zc is dohc.. and yeah from I can remember the numbers are pretty similar.. hopefully someone more knowledgeable can give you some insight. And like I just posted, putting the d15 final drive will only help with gas mileage.
