Default 1st gear bogging

ok heres what i got
d16y8 96 ex only bolt on it has to the engine is an intake (been puttin all mmy money into suspension for right now)
the problem is going outta 1st it bogs down a bit but then its fine through all of the other gears except for this time i was in 5th i gave it some gas (more than usual) and it started bogging down repeatedly. i just recently did a valve adjustment on the car checked the clearances twice and a day after doing the adjustment i re-torqued the locking nuts. if i let the clutch out really slow it doesnt bog down. no CEL and like i said the motor is pretty much stock. the car feels smooth throughout all rpms just when u start outta first it has this problem.

heres some things i think it might be but this is why im askin you because i always get great feedback and info from here
1. Bad tranny fluid-i just took the car on a 4 hour road trip and started really noticing the problem after that
2. valve adjustment- maybe some of the valves we not at the right clearance and im getting issues with that
3. clutch slipping-doubt it but idk what other symptoms i can relate to this issue.

look forward to hearing what you guys think any help is very appreciated. thanks

How does it idle, everything good there?

I thought you said you just had your valves adjusted...did you do them yourself? Your intake have all the sensors hooked up right. I know when i put my AEM on my 00 d16y8 there is 3 connections you have to make up to the intake right before the throttle body. I think they are used for the MAF sensor.

Maybe someone is starting to lose a bearing and that 4 hour trip was the floodgates breaking? I know as I progress through my gears, my bad ISB becomes less and less noticeable in feel and sound.

yeah it idles fine and everything is hooked to the intake i did the valve adustment myself and it ws my first one so not expecting perfection but even if the valves were a little loose it shouldnt cause the car to bog down so much should it? and so you guys dont think its a tranny issue? btw thanks for the reply

^ The bearing I speak of is the Input shaft bearing, which is the bearing your tranny shaft spins on, so I think it's your tranny personally. Any grinding when the clutch is out?

no grinds at all it shifts smooth its only when you are going out of first but that one other times worries my too when i was in 5th just for giggles i gave it a lot of gas going up a slight incline and it bogged repeatedly until i threw it in third and it was fine. thinking of re doing the valves since that was the last thing i did to the car before the problem happened fyi spark plugs are new so are the wires. havent checked the dizzy yet or the timing but i think i dont have a timing issue. all help is very apprecieated thx guys

also is there any damage that can be done to the rest of the car while driving on this problem (assuming its the ISB)? and is there any way to test for the bearing going bad?

Naw, once it goes, the ISB will just shred up, shouldn't do any more harm than that. Drain your tranny fluid and if you see any metal shards, it's a good case for your ISB going bad.

sorry for the long pause before the update the verdct is it was the clutch slipping. found out my master cylinder is leakin a little causing pressure to be lost to the clutch. i bleed the clutch got some new fluid in there and it solved to problem for now. until i get a new master it will eventually act up again but thx to all those that helped me.
