Hey guys, does anyone kno why sometimes my shifter gets stuck in the reverse gear when I reverse? i mean, I can take off my clutch pedal, and it wont stall or the car wont move, but then I press the clutch pedal again, then i can take it outta gear. Also, my 5th gear grinds a little when I accelerate going from 4th to fitfh, but only at high speeds for example, going from 4th at 65 mph+ to 5th gear... its weird

I have a 97 Accord, manual, with 150K miles. I see a similar problem shifting from 4th to 5th now. Are you suggesting this short shifter mod will fix my problem? Or, should I be looking at my clutch or tranny too?

 

I have a 95 Ex with 153K. similar to yours. I have not put this shifer in but the review and GB posted above lead me to belive that it performs much better.

Unfortunately there is real solution for this (as of yet). Its just inherent in the tranny asfter a number of miles. Wait til it dies and swap it out.
