Default H23a1 seized on highway, what next?

Hello guys, unfortunately my 1993 Prelude seized on the highway due to lack of oil (I believe). I have no idea what to do next. Sell it? Or try and replace the motor? Or is there a way to fix it at all? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My mechanic came out and tried to turn something on the motor and said it wouldnt turn therefore the engine would need to be replaced.

Well I just blew a head from lack of oil as well and my mechanic said if it seized up he'd basically have to rebuild the motor on my em2. So I just looked online on a link another member here gave me and found a motor 24k miles 500 bucks. Not sure how much yours is but what I also did was find a local towing company that tows for police and chhp the guy there said that they had alt of Vtec and ivtec from cars with stolen motors or repossed cars that after so long the police give them permission to sell

*oh and when you said seized I thought cops took it away lol

Your mechanic was probably trying to spin the crankshaft to see if motor spins. Chances are that you spun all your bearings and bent connecting rods to the point where you might even have damage to the actual cylinder walls. I'm 95-percent sure that in your situation you need another h23a1 block as a replacement. It's a easy find and it won't be too expensive for just the block. The other 5-percent of my thinking says that you also would need a replacement cylinder head due to oil starvation to the cams, but the block would go first mostly every time. If you are comfortable with working on your car, then i suggest you source out a h23a1 block and go from there. If not too comfortable, then find an h23a1 longblock minus transmission and replace the whole thing. Good luck.

So you are saying that I can call a towing company that tows for police and see if they are selling engines that they received?

Just buy a new motor, it would be cheaper, faster and easier than fixing the one you have.

I would also say just replace the engine with a used one, about 500 bucks plus labor for another H23, or go H22 swap, maybe 2 grand all in, depending on labor.

I swapped to the H22 when my crank snapped on my H23, did the work myself, and I think it was around 1900, including all the new timing belt and water pump parts, new gaskets, new ecu etc.

Well, i know a guy and he said he would do a swap for the h23 for 300-400 bucks. So I think im just gonna replace the motor and keep the same ecu, ect. I don't feel like going through the trouble of finding all those parts for a swap.
