What did my friend do to my car? I can't figure out what.
my friend did something in the engine bay, that gave a little more power. And made the car sound like an aftermarket intake was fitted.
The car is a 2001 Accord 4-cyl.
What do you guys think he did?
He won't tell me.
Please help! Thanks.

Sounds like your friend is a retard.
My vote is the lower bumper/fender area resonator. Gives the car a bit more throatier of an intake and a bit cooler of air. No real power though.

i'd guess the same thing too. isn't it illegal to remove the resonator in cali? i heard yall have crazy emission laws out there.

Air Cleaner Most emission controlled vehicles will have an air cleaner that is a closed element type or thermostatically controlled. A replacement air cleaner must meet the same specifications as the original and connect to any emissions equipment that was attached to the original equipment air cleaner. Any replacement air cleaner elements may be used as long as they meet original factory specifications. Any air cleaner that does not meet the original factory specifications requires an Executive Order to be legal for street use.
