i just had alarm put in laong with 2 10inch speakers and wired up my deck so the deck is running straight to battery for power and so is the amp but i got a toggle for my amp to turn on/off so basiclly my problem is my battery keeps dying i was told my alternator was bad had it tested sure enought it was so replaced it car was running fine then suddenly battery died while driving jump started it made it home now battery is dead again i changed pos wires check grounds added new grounds check alternator everything checks out fine car starts but afters couple days battery dies when car is sitting....please any help would be useful thanks

i got the same problem as you. but i took out my HIDs and it still happens. got 3 10's powered by a 500 watt amp, an aftermarket head unit, and a clifford alarm..
even though i have a yellowtop battery...

 

Here is a nice write up. Only thing is find the draw limit for your car from a helms. Not all cars are the same.

Also a bad battery can test good if the cells are bad too. Auto zone is quick to tell you other wise.
