Stock Gsr motor with T4 t67??
hey guys i need some advice on how this turbo will feel and more specifically running on 10psi? my friend has this turbo sitting around and said he would sell it to me for cheap since hes getting out of the honda scene for now.
The motor wont be built any time soon so im not going to be pushing over 10psi until next summer. ive had some friends tell me to find a t3/t4 57-60 trim.
This is going into a all stock internal GSR with just head studs. thanks

turbo will be WAY too big.
here's a t3/t67 on a stock block ls/vtec. 8psi is the dotted line, it doesnt spool til like 6k rpm. a t4 will be worse and it wont be any fun to drive IMO

On 10psi, it will make killer power for the boost level that is for sure. If it doesnt spool till 6k or more, then it will possibly drop out of boost between gears which will be no fun at all. Buy the turbo for cheap, then trade it for something smaller
You definitely need to go smaller! Turbo size really depends on what power aspirations you have.
Do you have a set goal as to what kind of power you'll be looking to make?

i might just take the turbo and flip it so i can buy another turbo. im looking for like 400-450whp when im fully done. more on the 400 side.
im looking for a t3/t4 60 trim right now, how is that turbo? anybody have any experience with it and whats the most power i can get out of it?

60 trim turbos can make 400whp, but not on pump gas. Those are about 52lbs/min, on a stage III wheel, and takes over 20psi to realistically get that goal. Not a bad choice, but there are others depending upon budget.
10 psi won't even be in that turbo's efficiency range - so no, it won't even make killer power for 10 psi.
ok i guess i've narrowed my turbos down to t3/t4 60 trim ar 63 or a t3 60-1? anybody tell me which one i should go with? i know the 60-1 will make more power but how much more than the 60 trim? and whats the most power i can get out of each one of these turbos on pump?
i have had badass luck wth t4 82 or 63 ar turbine 60-1 on stock b16,gsr.lsvtecs.
t67 t4 will suck **** on the street. it will only be good on a dead stop launch with the anti lag settings cranked up.
look on my EG FOR SALE signature i had a stock b16a with t4 60-1 and ran 11s all day on pump and 15 to 17 pounds.

A T3 60-1 should suit your needs. If you're looking to stay on the cheaper end, I know a lot of people are having luck with Holset turbo's. An HX35 or HX40 could do you well.
What tuning program / piggy back / standalone will you be using? Injectors / fuel system?

that t4 67mm .81 ar exhaust on my81mm motor 9-1 compression made 420whp at 10psi full boost about 6300rpm will work fine for now or intil u biuld motor billet 6262 would be a very good choice for what ur doin
I would run it. It's not going to be horrible. A street pull is going to start at 5000rpm at least and a drag race you can use anti lag. Instead of going off of psi use whp/wtq to determine your engine's limits.
The 60-1 can do even better than the 60 "trim" with the right exhaust wheel. The standard compressor housing and exhaust wheel that come from the standard garrett package was always a rather BAD combination. but it was the cheapest.
I had a t3/t67 h.o. .82 a/r on a stock gsr a few years back and made right at 400whp on 12psi(PUMP gas) and it flat out ripped! If you are getting it for cheap then I say to give it a try! The t67 is NO joke bro. It would be a good turbo for when you get your engine built for sure.
i think im just gonna sell the t4 t67 and get a t3 60-1 since it sounds like the best option for me for street use and its something i can grow on if i want to make more power down the line.
please chime in with more suggestions if you think i should do something else.

OP...its really up to you. If you have a t4 manifold and a downpipe that would fit this t67 unit then I would at least give it a try and see what you think. If you didnt like it then re-sell then get something smaller. I would think the 60-1 would be pretty close to the t67 as far as spool characteristics. The 60-1 may spool a little sooner(no more then 500rpm which is like 1/2 a second and you wouldnt notice lol) but I would still take the t67 over the 60-1. Plus I have always been turned away from buying a 60-1 by reputable shops in the past because its such an old unit. But like I said...thats just me. Its personal opinion bro.

Motor is too small for this if this were a 5.7L Chevy this can be justified. (Opinion)
But the short anwser is : You can anwser this your self of course you can have a what? A mid frame turbo and run it on 10 psi it's your car after all. Plus 1.8L Honda won't much under 5000 rpm in the first place.
