T4 60-1 too much for my GSR?

Default T4 60-1 too much for my GSR?

A buddy of mine has a Garrett (I believe) t4 60-1 turbo that he is trying to sell. I just bought a 90 Hatch and I am going to turbo the GSR that I am putting in it. I offered him to trade for the turbo that I was running on my Ser, because he thinks that the 60-1 is a little too big for his setup. A local with the same turbo on his DSM has a bit of trouble spooling it, but appearently makes big power off no tune with the same turbo.

I'm not sure of the exact turbo specs, but my turbo is a Garrett T3/T04e with a stage 3 turbine wheel, 50 trim/.53 a/r. Saw whatever boost I had it the controller set to by 4.5k rpms, and that is on a 2.0 motor. Is the T4 going to be too big for a stock bore GSR?

t4 60-1 will see boost at about 5500. way too late on the street imo

When you say "see bost", do you mean boost will just come on then or I will be boosting fully by then? The majority of races that I end up getting into are from a roll, and with a short geared tranny, I won't even see any less than 5500 rpms.

Also, I would like to tune with the AEM EMS, and I have read about the anti-lag function. Would this help the lag that I would be getting with such a big turbo?

full boost around 5500. but what about when you arent racing? you have to think about more than just, wot trying to beat someone

Well, if I don't have boost until 5500 then it's better gas mileage for me woohoo! I do see where you are coming from though, and I appreciate the input.
