My 01 Coupe (manual) is making a strange noise.
I'm not sure what this noise is. It is heard mostly while in 1st and 2nd gear, and the car is in motion. Not when it's stopped. I don't know if I'm paranoid or what.

Thank you for any help.

No. Sorry. All I have is this crappy iPhone and it only makes this consistent noise when I'm in the 1st and 2nd gear. I'm thinking it is the transmission, because I don't hear it when I rev up the engine, and it doesn't make it while it idles.
EDIT: could be the torque converter. I'm not too sure. Going to take it to a shop sometime to get another opinion on it.

Frankly, I can't hear anything abnormal in the video, it's too noisy. Things to look at would be bearings (main input shaft, release aka throwout) - syncs, clutch components, etc.
Does it make any strange noises while in neutral and your foot off the clutch? Any hissing or chatter/ticking/clunking?
Same here... What is the noise and when does it happen? Can you get someone else to vid while you're driving?
I'm thinking it might be a bearing. I only hear it in the 1-3 gears. It's the same noise. And I just don't have a camera with good enough sound quality. I only have an iphone.
I'm getting it looked at today. I guess I have a project for the weekend. ><

Took it too a shop. Opened up the transmission fill, and there was yellow fluid gushing out.
1) there shouldn't be fluid coming out. 2) it was yellow, and not red like the honda MTF
Going to get some Genuine Honda MTF and flush out the system.

as for fluid gushing out the fill hole, were you on level ground?
Ah. Well the stuff in there was light yellow. Got the Honda stuff. It is that darker yellow.
I replaced it, and the noise seemed to die down a bit. Going to drain it and fill it again tomorrow, to get more of that **** out of the system. Don't have the means to get it flushed or have a mechanic do it.
I really do not want to replace bearings, or the input and/or output shaft or anything that will cost a lot of $$$.
Here's to hoping.

Manuals don't need flushing. It's basically a couple of shafts with meshed gears, a fill plug and a drain plug. If you think it needs more of a 'flushing' then just run the car up to temp to get the fluid warm, then drain and fill.
Sorry, I'm still learning how cars work. Haha.
Anyways, if changing the fluid does nothing, I've heard it can be a bearing or an input and/or output shaft. How much would that run me?

Find out what the problem is before you just dive into this and start buying parts that you don't need.
Changed the fluid again. The sound was reduced slightly, but not much. There has to be damage. Dropping it off at a shop on Monday to have a look at it. Hopefully it's something rather inexpensive, and that I can figure out how to fix myself.
So I have come to the conclusion to replace the tranny, than to repair it. The labor and parts alone cost the same for the labor and the transmission.
I have f'd up bearings and 1st and 2nd gear are chewed up.
