Default Disecting time slip, 2.3L turbo Rex

Yesterday I took the Rex out. I am a first time turbo driver . I wanted to take it a little easy out of the gate. Wasn't sure if axles could take the full beaten. But I think they can. I am just curious if anyone can get some info. out of the run in what the car might be capable of if it hooks...

2.3L Crx
470 hp 370 trq @ 15 psi SC61
22x8x15" MT's (old NA slicks) 9 psi
2200 lbs with me

Pretty much spinned 1-3 my guess too much psi for those gears, will try to lower it a bit. 15 psi is what I believe it is at. Had to drop into next gear little early. Once in 3rd it feathers its self out and then hooks. 4th gear hooks and comes on like gang busters and gotta hold on lol crossing the line in top of 4th at about 8k. 22's dont help, I know I need 24.5s.

Its the 22s bro, they just cant handle the Tq and Hp the car makes.

A 60ft like that with even more wheelspin will usually never net you much better ETs, didnt matter if you made 1000hp the tires just wont handle it, put the bigger shoes on it.

alot of people have gone fast on 22's but if you want the easy way to go faster put some bigger slicks on.

Get some 24.5x9.5x13 my guess, low 11s/ high 10s with the right tire.

you just need more seat time. i bet you can get the 22s to work for you if you figure the car out.

easy thing to do is upgrade the tires.

More Driving time and for sure bigger slicks. also play with Launch RPM's.

I think mostly you need seat time. Good lucK!

less boost like 8lb's and work his way up on the 22's and using boost by gear function i'd say.

john,

you need bigger slicks. I had a customer car out at the track with 22's. It was an LS making 336whp. 1/8th mile best was an 8.29 and we couldnt use WOT the whole way down the track even after long 2nd gear burnouts. We would get into 4th thinking we could mash the gas and the tach went straight to limiter.

Suspension still wasn't adressed. That could also be a factor.
