Default Finally Dynoed..Pump gas 93 octane!!

Well guys, i went last night to the dyno to "re tune" the hatch.. Last time i went we just had to do baseline runs due to the turbo blowing in the dyno...

The baseline run last time was of 235whp and 196lb/ft at 15 PSI

This time we upped the boost to 17 PSI and tuned there.

Results where---> 266whp and 240lb/ft (3rd gear) 4th gear pulls netted 253whp and 234.9 lb/ft.. Pump gas 93 octane

This time vs last base run we gained 50whp more in the midrange in some spots so think that pretty good. I think it made great power for just a SOHC non Vtec with a 100% stock head.

For some reason we upped the boost to 20 PSI but it didnt increase the horsepower. Does this means that the turbo efficiency is maxed out?Im guessing there are some factors as to why it didnt bumped the HP..the turbo should be good for at least 300whp

The A/F stayed at WOT between 11.1 and 11.4 so its pretty safe.

I will post the Dynosheet later when i scan it as well as more details

BTW the setup for those who dont remember is:
D16Y7 motor
Z6 IM
Vitara Pistons on Eagle Rods
DSM 450
Walbro 255 fuel pump
LoveFab Minime
T3 super 60 turbo
Turbonetics Racegate
3" DP and Exhaust
2.5" charge pipes
RFL BOV
Uberdata on P06 ECU

All comments questions welcome.

Good #'s, how high are you reving the car? ALso maybe you reach the limits of the y7 head and the turbo

Thats great power for a small turbo and non-vtec single cam head. Probably one of the highers numbers that I can remember!

I think you probably got as much out of your head as you can expect since its still stock.

Not bad for a non-VTEC SOHC!

And for only revving to 6900. Nice work

Excellent increase in the torque too, I bet it feels good to have 240ft/lbs of torque!

For now i will stay Non vtec..for me thats the fun of it..make good power on the non vtec head... I'll maybe go vtec when i see it doesnt produce any more..

I am thinking of adding a Catch Can to free the motor a lil..I bet those gases could be restraining 4-5 ponies... I will also add a Blaster Coil for a beter burn and will probably do a Intercooler sprayer to see if i pick up some horses...maybe go up to 275-280 on the stock head...

Definitelly an Edelbrock Manifold would be a nice addition and im thinking of maybe getting a Water injection kit.

Looking good . Im not sure if that turbo is capable of putting over 300whp because I've never seen it done. Plus the fact that it added no power at 20psi probably means it lost all efficiency and is blowing hot air. My old turbo (which was pretty damn big) gained 31whp going from 15-17.5psi but thats because it was just getting in its efficiency range

Have fun with the setup

I thought it was good for a lil over 300whp...If its not then i might upgrade to a t3/t04e 57 trim... that should give me a nice bump..

Very nice! im building almost the same set-up. only mine is on a z6 but everything else is the same, uber, super 60, vitaras, eagles....im hoping for over 300 at around 18psi. my z6 head is a gude head (minus the cam cause htey blow!) so by looking at your #'s i shouldnt have a problem! very nice numbers though gotta love that torque!!

i dont know exactly but im gonna try to reach 300who with them..Ive been running the pistons for around 5-6 months and the motor is strong..no problems with them..

The pistons seem to like timing.

yeah..This was when i arrived at the dyno...

Strapped and ready to go.

exterior

This is an old shot of the motor..I dont have that big of a charge pipe now and i have a dual core radiator now with silicone hoses..and grounding kit.

Thanks for all the comments..
I thik i might have found something that might have limited the power a lil at the dyno...I just found out this morning that there were 3 loose bolts on the manifold..i could even turn them with my finger so im thinking it might have started to leak boost in the final runs and maybe thats why it didnt produce more hp when we upped to 20 PSI...
I am tempted to tighten all the bolts again and go do 2 pulls at he dyno to see if there is any difference.

doubtful that will make much of a difference. turbo will still make 20psi, you'll just have a manifold that isnt loose anymore.

the super60 is starting to run out of breath at 20psi anyway. the max fringe on one is 22-23psi and you're pretty close to that.

not only that but you said you're running the stock head. You can only cram so much air through small ports/valves at once.

You need to let that thing breath man. go get you another head from ebay and port it and cut for bigger valves and a cam.

at the least get a larger cam to open those tiny *** valves up a little more

I just heard that last night a SOHC Vtec coupe hit 311whp with these pistons but i have to Confirm that cause i dont know the person...

I will try to dig some more info and find out who the owner is.
