White smoke coming out of my exhaust
Since my oil pan isn't here yet I check my oil everyday because it drips I drove to work this morning ANd since I was a lil low I stopped at my moms and added some oil. When I was pulling out I reversed no prob, put it in first fine and started to accelerate and I noticed a lag , It wasn't going as fast as it should of been and I look in my rearview mirror and see a bunch of white smoke, so I immediatly shut the car off and pushed it back into the driveway. I thought it was the oil so I drained it , measured it exzactly but there was still white smoke , although not as much. The only thing I can think of is the oil I used ? I use castrol high mileage and all my dad had was peak?? Anyone know what it could be??
Also I did try searching but I'm on my gay iPhone one thread said it's a bad head one saic it's from water in the muffler and one said it's because my mufflers dieing..
Could be fried piston rings. That would allow oil to pass and burn out the exhaust causing white smoke. Also could be a blown headgasket. Are you losing coolant, and does your exhaust tip have a sweet smell to it?
It sounded like you added some oil, and if it was the same weight as what was in there, no problems.
Your iPhone might not have been too far off:
White smoke - Coolant / water
Black smoke - Fuel
Blue smoke - Oil
It could be possible that your car was just warming up and you never noticed it before. It could also be that you were just paying attention this time and noticed it. Check your oil cap and see if there is any foam underneath; if there is, you're definitely getting coolant in the oil.
If you don't see anything, I'd suggest sending your oil to Blackstone Laboratories to be analyzed. They'll tell you for sure if you're getting any coolant into your oil from a headgasket.

I checked the coolant right after and it didn't look like I was losing any and i check my oil. Constantly and have Not seen any milky stuff that I've read from other posts. When I smelled it it smelled like sickly sweet but at the same time burned oil .
Autoexer I know for sure this is the first time it's done this and idk why.. i also felt a noticeable decrease in power after shifting into 2nd if that means anything

You don't have to loose alot of coolant to blow white smoke. What was it that smelled sweet? Usually, any sweet smell is coolant. If you're loosing / burning oil as well, you may have a couple of issues going on that are confusing the issue.
It is possible that you were paranoid about adding the oil, and just paid extra attention to these things. Problems that burn coolant or oil don't usually happen instantaneously.
