Default DC GSR Brakes in a 4door EF

I just got front knuckles and rear trailing arms with complete brakes.

Josh on Ef-honda.com did it and didnt seem to have any rpoblems.

http://ef-honda.com/main/viewtopic.p...r=asc&start=40

I know there is alot of thoughts around caster and all that. But ive seen EF's with a 5 lug done, so its possible.

Parts:

Thinking of picking up 4 door DA rear brake lines and Parking brake cables. Also will get DA MC (is that a 15/16 or something like that?)
And a DA 40/40 prop valve.

Does that all sounds correct to everyone? Will it work fine for me. I am a finger gap all around with a Skunks2 Pro series camber kit up front. I shouldnt have any problems at this ride height? or am i missing something here?

Thanks

if you can spend couple bucks i would just go ahead and get steel lines, but other then that the rest of the item u have listed should work great. cause i have EVERYTHING replace on my crx from a DA. front and rear brakes, MC, Brake Booster, and Prop Valve. It will stop on a DIME.

FYI if you have stock ef si bb you cannot use DA 15/16 MC, you have to use EF EX one that is also 15/16

if you want to use DA 15/16 you have to use DA non abs BB.

as for the differnce between DA and DC trialing arms, the ONLY difference is the RTA bushing. DA/EF RTA are bigger than EG/EK/DC trailing arms...
Honda charges a few bucks more for the larger RTA bushing but other than that no major issue/difference at all

I got a 4door so its a DX. I was going to get DA bb as well.

Now about about knuckles? I hear that dc knuckles are 1/2 inch taller, is that all the difference i will have to deal with?

That is INCORRECT, the 88-00 civic, as well as the 94-01 Integra all had the same size smaller diameter bushings.

Misha, the 92+civic and 94+Teg knuckles have much different specs than that of the EF's. It will throw off your suspension geometry. Even the DA is SLIGHTLY different, but much more closely related to that of the EF in terms of specs. The reason why you see EFs with 5 lug is because they are either a.) too lazy to worry or even care for proper suspension geometry, or b.) have gone to the extreme to use EF knuckles with modified (machined) 5 lug hubs to keep the proper suspension geometry.

I have an EX so my brake upgrades were far easier. However, I would HIGHLY suggest and recomend to you that you find yourself some EX front knuckles and use either an EX BB/MC for direct bolt on, OR modify your lines with the 90-93 Teg BB/MC. ABS or not, the BB and MC do not change, the ABS unit controls the ABS, NOT the MC/BB as popular belief goes. If that were the case I would not be able to use my 1" BB/MC from the 94+ Integra on my car, which I am.

I don't know if you know my upgrades, but I have my EX knuckles up front, 94 ferio rear discs, 40/40 prop valve, 1" BB/MC, Stainless lines all around, and Motul 5.1 synthetic fluid. Still waiting to upgrade my pads as I am waiting to find dual piston Legend calipers for my front, as well as convert to 10.3" rears.

It's always better to do it right the first time then spend more money doing it multiple times to get it right.

Problem is EX knuckles are really hard to find in Canada. I found one guy locally but hes got an 11 inch set up on his knuckles. It wont even clear my 15's and he wants 200 bucks for them. so no thanks i just spent 200 on the full DC set up.

If DA is relatevly close(and i hear people running htem with no problem) how about this: I get some DA knuckles from a local yard and put my DC calipers and rotor on it. Will that work?

Look at the stamp on the caliper, EX civic, and all integras use the same caliper. Do you know how much I sold my EX knuckles for? $450!!! $200 with a big brake setup is a steal, scoop em up and sell the big brake setup and use the calipers, rotors and pads you have on your dc set up on the ex knuckles.

ok i think i might do it then. Hes got some prelude rotors on in and legend calipers. So if they dont clear my rims ill sell them and just put my gsr stuff on the EX knuckles. Will be a great set up anyway
