obd2 wiring harness question....
What car do you have?
Anyway, the OBDII and OBDI sensor styles are the same so yes the OBDII harness will clip on to the OBDI sensors. Might have to extend a few wires and swap a couple of plugs but you will be okay.

Like Trey said, depends on what car/engine/harness. Seems to me OBD II injector plugs are different, so is the IAC plug, and the dizzy plug too. Some OBD II harness's are half harness's some are full. What are you working with?
i have a 97 integra LS obd2 motor and harness. I'm swapping it into 92 civic dx. I'm just trying to avoid having to make the obd2 distributor work in an obd1 car. so if I can just use the obd2 harness that I got that would save me a lot of time.
Oh yeah, my name is Trey too!

You can use the LS engine harness and it plugs into the shock tower plugs for the Civic. Katman had a pic a while back but his account is gone now. That would solve the injector and dist problem. I could be wrong though.
Cool, three Trey's on this board!!

The OBD2 engine harness will plug right up to the OBD1 civic chassis harness at the shock towers. The only dificulty is at the ECU. The OBD2 computer WILL NOT plug up but the easy fix is to just use an OBD1 LS ECU.

well that works out good, because I ordered a 95 LS ecu instead of the 97 one with my swap. cool thanks guys. oh yeah, for a while I thought I had to wire up the knock sensor for my motor, then I found out that it doesn't have one, just the GSR and b16 have them. so know, I'm wondering, do I have to move a17 to a20? or is that a GSR and b16 thing also?

I have a 99 B18C1 full OBDII including the engine harness in my 92 VX. I used a 95 OBDI P72 ecu and it runs the motor perfect and plugged right into my cabin harness. I had to wire up the knock sensor, secondary butterflies and rewire the O2 sensor.
In your case, if you get the full OBDII drop out with the harness and an OBDI LS ecu everything will bolt up, plug and play and there will be little if any wiring involved.

well, just so no one is confused, its a20 to a17. and yes, that is a GSR only thing.

here's that pic I believe you were referring to Trey.
this isn't a picture of an OBD2 engine harness in an OBD1 vehicle; it's all OBD1, but it shows the plugs at the pass.side shock tower where you'd plug the OBD2 harness into.

...ahem. what's this about my account being gone?

That's the one. Thanks dood!
So you moved it on me...I see how it is.
Is that pic correct? Seeing as the only car that you can use a 99+ Si harness effectively is a 99+ civic.
I'm pretty sure that you can't use that harness in an OBD 1 car..unless something has changed.

Yeah you're right when speaking of any obd2 civic engine harness; but when using an OBD2 integra harness it will plug into an OBD1 chassis.....but you prolly know that already, now don't you Fowly?
