confused with my ecu situation
well this is my first thread so ill introduce myself
i have a jdm 88 crx with a b18b1 with a s1 cable tranny
specs on my car are
b18b1 with hasport mounts
intake header exhaust
some random 14" rims i spray bombed red that look decent i suppose
90/91 cluster
90/91 jdm or "sir" front end as some people call it
power windows, climate control
tenzo wheel and thats about it.
16 valve dual carb decal on rear window lol
anyways to my question i bought my car with the swap and i wanted to see what obd my car was running. so i looked at my ecu and its a pm6. so my motor has been converted to obd0 than? and the car itself is still same as stock obd0? im pretty sure my car has a chek engine light on but where the check light should be in the cluster it has been removed. theres a light that turns on with the key in ignition and stays on after i start my car so im pretty sure thats a check engine light. ill get to checking that out later though
also i was looking up and the pm6 is a sohc ecu? is this okay to run the b18b1? or should i look into another obd0 ecu or maybe convert to obd1?
any help or more info to help me understand this is appreciated
thanks!!

that car was obd0 to begin with so it was not converted. you are correct in that the pm6 is the wrong ecu, what you need is a pr4. make sure it's obd0 though because the pr4 is also offered in an obd1 flavor.
couldn't hurt to check the cel but i wouldn't jump any conclusions without having the correct ecu first. to check the cel turn the key to ON/RUN and count the blinking led in the center of the ecu. the blinks correspond to different codes.

yeah thats what i was thinking. i think i will try to source a pr4 ecu this week and see what happens.
its easy enough to check for codes though so ill give it a try and see what comes up with the pm6 right now
thanks for the reply!

yea if you are throwing any codes right now, doesn't matter if your CEL in the cluster is on, the ecu blinks the codes. If you need an obd0 PR4, pm me, I have a few spares.
i pm'd you about an ecu. i checked for codes and its showing 17 so vss but my speedo works fine so thats not really bad at all. im going to get a pr4 for it and see if theres any change in the way that it runs and eventually figure out the vss. i think it has something to do with the cluster swap but im not 100% sure
anyways
thanks for the input!
anyways
thanks for the input!
i have an 88 crx si and i just completed my swap with a 98 b18b1 but i have no power to my ecu, fuel pump,or sparkplugs for some reason ive checked fuses all of them good out of ideas any info will help thanks
sounds like you didnt hook your ground up on the wiring harness to the engine

To. b18b1 88crxsi. Make sure the grounds on engine harness are connected. Like 1990hondacrx said They should be grounded to the termostat. It is a meatle ring with a few wires crimped on it.
