37820-p73-a04 ecu plug and play for 01'' itr swap??
I have a 01'' usdm itr swap in my 98'' gsr and i need it bar'd so will the 37820-p73-a04 01'' usdm itr ecu be a plug and play ecu or will i have a imobilizer issues and have to take the ecu to the dealer? also this ecu seems smaller than my 98'' gsr ecu did they just come smaller in that year for the itr?
thanks, does anyone know whats needed for me to use this ecu without issues with check engine lights ect. i need to bar my itr swap thanks. how do i remove the imobilizer and make it work on my 0bd2a 98'' gsr?? because the car is obd2a and the itr ecu is obd2b and i never thaught there was a diffrence.
pick up an OBD2a - OBD2b conversion harness (this may not be allowed, I'm not sure, you may have to repin the OBD2a plugs)
you will need the immob setup installed as well as the new key programmed into your ECU. (if you got a key with your ECU you're set)
the immob can not be removed without the CEL being on.
I'm not sure about cali rules but you can run a P73-A03, which came out of the 98 USDM ITR. Which is OBD2a, but I'm not sure if that works with the emissions check with the newer engine.

NOTE: JDM P73s are all OBD2a but they do not work with USDM scan tools, so they are an immediate fail for emissions.

Yes i think im gonna use a 98'' itr ecu cause its obd2a and i actually believe my itr head at least is marked 99 on the side which would make me think this is a 98'' itr head but the code on the head year says /01/ which would mean its a 00'' itr head, with the block they cant tell cause its stamped b18c-5. but ill double check the stamp on the head. But the head was sold from the dealer as a 01'' itr head.

CA bar/emissions testing sucks...
you got that right! is so stupid out here they have a street race task force! come on man!! i honestly blame every damn rice rocket on the road for bringing heat on the enthusiast like me, they put green/ colorful rims, loud *** exhausts and not to mention stickers all over there cars like its a show car when its like a 95'' civic or something. and then people like me who have serious motor builds and try every thing possible to stay out of the radar and still get profiled cause of the stupid trends these fools made out here. Its only cause there lost in the and have no clue on what a real import build should be like let alone pick up a import magazine for once n there life and build there cars right! not with green or red rims and a skunk 2 sticker on there wind shield! I hate it here and is the reason why im gonna just join the masses and get a car thats fast and needs no major mods to full fill my speed/ sport car needs and is street leagal so these punk *** cops can stop popping my hood every time im pulled over. Watch out for my 02'' corvette Z06 coming soon lol.
I swapped a 99 spec b18c (obd2b) into my 96 hatch (obd2a) without any jumper or depinning. I ended up with no check engines or anything. Althought my idle hangs while I drivve until I come to a complete stop. I pulled my speed sensor and it stopped doing it. Let me know if you find the same thing. Thanks

if bloomslang and xenocron do not stock them, or can't get them (I'd be shocked since they are still listed), check ebay. (ex. - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-O...Q5fAccessories )

I'm not sure how many you need, but it only takes one.
the one I linked to would work fine and the price isn't outrageous.
this harness is likely going to cost more than the other direction since it's not near as commonly done.

I made my own. Simply pulled out the two books and matched up what needed to be matched up. Then started soldering and heat shrinking.
