Default looking for some feedback on an alpine setup

Hey I was planning on getting hte following items for my 93 prelude vtec. Let me know what you think/whether the setup is worth it and will sound ok....

cda-7995 hu, 6.5 type r components front, 6.5 type r 2 way rear, mrv-f340 amp for the speakers - subs and amp to be deremined later...

I was reading another post and saw that running an extra power/ground to the hu is a good idea... should I run separate power cable from the battery next to my amp cable (i was planning on getting 4 gauge and splitting it at the end once i get another amp for subs) or can i make a t junction once it's through the firewall and run a larger gauge wire to the hu from there?

Thanks for the input

that is a non-amplified headunit and does not require an extra power wire. only the high powered alpine headunits. but that sounds like a nice setup. i would recomend a alpine type r 12" sub with the 500 watt mono amp. your car will rock!!!

thats sounds like a great setup.. sounds like the one i ordered from work at CC the other day and hope to have it all installed by the end of sept if we get it in by then.. i already have a cda7894 w/ mp3 HU, and the components are ordered and they are type r components for the fronts, type r rears, i acutally went w/ the apn mrv-f540 for more power to the component speakers. i already have an mtx thunder8100d mono block amp for my 1 12" type r dvc sub. im going to add a bass cap as well cause ill be running 2 amps now.

it will sound nice.. im very happy w/ the type r components..
