Does a GT3271 turbo need an oil restrictor? I searched around and it seemed that some were installing restrictors and some were not. Or would I be fine with just an -3AN line?

Also, if I wanted to buy a complete oil line (feed and return) for my car, where would be the best place to do that.

What are your thoughts on this:

The GT3271 is a journal bearing turbocharger. Like all Garrett journal bearing turbochargers on hondas, you must first determine if one is needed based upon your actual oil pressure. If over 90psi at WOT or at cold start, use a .065" restrictor. Otherwise, one is not needed. If you want to purchase one to be on the safe side, do so. Then if you need it, you have it.

 

for a -3 line you will be fine without a restrictor, but if you are using a -4 it would be best to use one.

A little trick that will work to get you running while you get a restictor is a right sized rivet rivet. Pull the pin out of the collar and pop it into the line.. it sounds haggard as **** but trust me it works, I have done it before, hell I even left it and never got a restrictor, sold the car almost a year ago and it's still in there, still running good no problems with the turbo or smoking

 

Sorry, my ASSumption was that a -3AN line was going to be used.
