Default New built Motor Compression test Low... Normal??

I have a d16y8 with eagle rods and cp 9.0.1 pistons w/ .0045 piston to wall clearance and .020 and .024 ring clearances

Just rebuilt the motor. I no the compression is suppost to be somewhat lower since i havent actually drove the car and broken in the rings.

The motor has to be fine because all compression #'s were within each other.

all cylinders were 90-95psi

Im afriad of burning alot of oil. Any suggesstions? Always gonna burn oil at start up? How much is the exhaust gonna smoke everytime it is started, enough to fill my garage up or just slightly...

i just recently finished installing my rebuilt a6/z6 combo. when i started it for the first time it smoked for less than a min burning off the oil that i had poured into the cylinders, then smoked a little bit as i accelerated until the rings seated. but by no means did it smoke ALOT like a train or a worn out motor

break the engine in and properly seat the rings then do a compression test, you should be fine.

Get a dyno tune and break-in at the same time. Do a compression/leakdown test afterwards.

Do what these guys are saying and break it in first I go about 100 miles , then make sure its at operating temp, disable the fuel relay, hold the throttle open and crank, I usually count about 7 or 8 seconds

With 9:1 your readings should be close to stock...I have vitaras with eagle rods and my compression is around 140psi...also I could be wrong but .024 thousandths ring gap seems big....I did .018 on the top and .020 on the second and have no issues

i was always told and the book also said it to, to add 4 to the first number so you dont get ring flutter. I did a big ring gap only because i was looking for 400whp and it will be on 20-23psi. but ya even i feel the ring gap is pretty big. i kin dof went off of evans-tuning were he did 19 and 23 and that was all motor high comp. I just dont wanna be at normal temp cruising and you can see smoke. i dont care if it spits out when racing.
