Lower Ball Joint NUT removal and installation
I removed the passenger side axle after getting a ball joint separator.
Now when i put it all back together and try to get the nut on the threads of the lower ball joint it just spins the ball joint. I didn't press the balljoint out of it's arm/bracket, just from the Lower Control Arm.
Is there a way to stop the ball joint from spinning so i can get the nut back on.
Thanks

do the same thing with the jack and have some one stand or push down on the rotor/ hub and it normaly dose the trick unless u have an impact gun to zip it on. G/L
tried an impact gun with no luck with one jack.
will have to see if i can get someone to stand on the rotor.
any other suggestions or ideas just in case that doesn't work?

i had the same problem and my dad told me to put a wrench (circle side) in between the ball joint and the nut, then tighten it then loosen it and repeat until you can slide the whole nut all the way.
-p-O <------ball joint, wrench (as a spacer), then castle nut then tighten.
it worked!
of course you will take out the wrench wen you're ready to toque all the way

Now, with the ball joint completely exposed, can you turn the ball inside the socket easily? Does it have any up and down movement? Sounds like your ball joint may simply be worn out

no up and down movement.
the top of the ball joint that is pressed in doesn't spin
any specific tests for a worn ball joint compared to a new one or just the up and down movement?
