RPM gauge problem w/hondata
**RPM needle bounces crazy at 6k rpm and goes back to 0**
I have a 00 GSR with a JDM GSR engine swap. Today I installed my Hondata S300 and now my RPM gauge is not working correctly. We installed the GSR base map and my buddy who knows about HONDATA took a look at it and made some changes and still couldn't find the issue. We even uploaded a JDM Basemap and had no luck. I do have an ITR Cluster with the GSR green back plate. With my stock p72 ecu the RPM gauge works perfect. With the Hondata the needle freaks out at 6k rpm even though the car is still pulling in gear. Does anyone know what could be wrong?
Thank you

What did you find out? I've got a B16 in a 94 Civic, so it's all OBD1 with no jumper harness. Mine does the same thing round 5-6,000 RPM the gauge just goes crazy and bounces all over the place but my tunerview and laptop read the RPM just fine...
It only seems to bug out when I'm under full throttle. During normal driving it will go all the way up to 8500 just fine. But as soon as I mash the throttle it's all over the place.

I'm having the same exact problem with my AEM EMS and it's really annoying not knowing what rpm i'm at during a full throttle pull...I've checked over everything and I think it's something in the ignition since the Tach signal comes from the ignitor and not the computer. I have my tach signal coming out of my MSD box, but I don't have another box to swap out. If anyone has a fix I'd love to hear it.

Bump for an answer as I'm having the same issue with my LSV swap. I had an LS motor previously, also on Hondata, and my tach worked fine.
With the LSV swap I can see the RPMs when I'm hooked up to the Hondata, but the gauge doesn't display anything at all. Swapped 2 different tach gauges, and tried 2 different clusters, and still nothing.
HELP please, I'm electrically challanged for the most part, but if I know what needs to be done I can figure out how to do it.

If you're replying to my question, I never used a jumper. The tachometer gauge itself is not moving. I can only see the RPMs when I hookup a laptop and see it off the ECU with Hondata.
