Anyone ever extend their wastegate dump tube?
I dont like how my tial dumptube dumps right onto the downpipe. i was thinking about buying some 1.5" piping that they call "exhaust repair kit" or whatever and clamping it on, and having it dump under the car.

wierd, ive never seen it done. ayone have pics? just to clarify, i am reffering to justhaving it dump below he motor and ****, not actually routing it into the exhast
If you're not routing into the exhaust you might want to go ahead and have hard tubing welded on so you don't have that flex pipe flying around everywhere.
I just welded up my dumptube so that it comes down to the bottom of the car, and ran one of those flex repair kits back, and connected to a 45 degree elbow that I welded to the downpipe. It's soooo nice.
I guess I'm just used to hearing that lawnmower sized open exhaust sound from the wastegate....but now you mash on the pedal and the car takes off, quietly, VERY quietly...with the exception of that turbo screaming like never before.
Now I would NEVER run an open dump ever again!

I'm running an open WG dumtube that runs straight down towards the ground in front of the motor. What are the positives and or negatives to doing so?

ok so i tried every discount auto, autozone, napa ertc in town, nobody carries 1.5" of the flex piping stuff. anything else i can use, or anywhere i can buy the flex online? thanks
If you are gonna run it underneat the car....**** the flexpipe ****. Just get a muffler shop to cut off your tube now and weld it to that flange you have and make the tube just either a)run out your front bumper b)run out in front of your tire c)run it underneath the car next to the dp.
I ran open dump tube for a while no big deal really, wont pass emmissions for sure! We are routing it into the downpipe now, same kind of technique most people use..
jcwhitney.com sell flexible exhaust pipes from 1.5" to 3" thats what i used for my dumptube 1.5" and then got hose clamps to secure it to my downpipe and exhaust.
hehe, my friends wth supra's and dsm's that run open wg's shoot some nice flames out of theirs... i have a vid of a friends dsm at night racin a bike and you can see some nice blue flame poppin out...
so it does blow flames? if thats the case im gonna run it infront of my tire and let the world see!
