hi i have a 89 ef9 si with a 1.6 zc sohc and was wondering what can i do to fix my spedo it just doesnt work. any help would be great thank you !!

 

check your speedometer cable at your VSS near the rear of the transmission and behind your cluster and see if there plugged in correctly.

Sorry, too lazy to verify, just here doing some quick reading, but I think a test is in here???

Forget it bro, I came back and I see that you have a cable drive, you have to remove your speedo and see if the cable is spinning while you drive, then go from there, ask for more help if needed. Sorry about above link for electric VSS, its not even there.

 

that has nothing to do with why his speedometer doesn't work and his engine doesn't even have vtec,

 

grip the VSS cable and push down on it to the tranny

sometimes they can work out if theey were ever messed with

 

^or the clip could've came off
