Hi,
Does any one have experience with toyo proxes 4? Any other comparable or better tires in the same price range? It will be in the size of 195-50-15.

The Toyo Proxes 4 is an all-season tire, and not a particularly good one. All-seasons are designed for those who must use the same tire in snow and bitter cold weather as they do in warmer temperatures the rest of the year; in exchange for that greater flexibility in temperature conditions, they don't perform as well. So they're a compromise tire; they don't grip as well in winter conditions as a winter tire, and they don't grip as well in moderate to warm temperatures as a summer tire. And again, the Toyo Proxes 4 isn't even one of the best all-seasons.

If you live in Arizona and you don't take frequent trips to snow-covered areas, you'll get much much MUCH better performance with a summer tire than an all-season tire.

The best value in a summer tire in 195/50-15 is the Yokohama S.drive, which is $70/tire with free shipping from Discount Tire Direct. It's a very good summer tire, relatively long-lasting too. And that's a great price.

BFGoodrich makes a lot of different tires with the g-Force name on them - everything from supersticky, fast-wearing R compound tires for the racetrack, to daily driving summer tires, to all-season tires. None of them offers the same combination of price and performance as the Yokohama S.drive.
