D15b into cx- tech questions
OK, here we go one more time. I just put a D15b VTEC into my friend's 94 cx hatch. Basically, I took his motor out and plugged the D15b7 harness onto the D15b. I slapped an EX tranny on and KABLAM, it started and drove instantly. Here's where things start getting funky. The car sounds like it's flooding and runs ROUGH in low to mid RPMs. It's giving weird readings for a few sensors, but before I go swapping MAP and TPS and O2 and who knows what else, let's make sure it installed correctly. Take a break, it only gets more boring.
1.) Of course, i needed to run the wires for vtec. i can figure than one out... maybe.
2.) There's an extra plug hanging near the intake manifold off the engine harness. There's nowhere to plug it into the jdm intake mani. i should have kept the B7 around a lil longer, oops.
3.) We had to, for now, use the B7 puny exhaust mani. with the one wire O2 sensor. Does the D15b use a one wire or four wire O2?
4.) All we had as far as Vtec ECU for the thing was an automatic P28, so I did the resistor thing and converted it to work on a manual tranny. It worked, but he plans on getting a P08 anyways. if he gets a P08, can he keep the one wire O2? I heard it's required.
5.) there's two prongs on the back of the D15b block that might need something plugged into them. unfortunately, the B7 engine harness has no connector for it. is it important?
Please sling any additional knowledge at me I might need to know on swapping a D15b into a D15b7's home. If you feel that you have to insult my ignorance before dropping facts on me, go ahead. I will sacrafice a little pride to get my homeboy a happy SOHC!

ok, on second thought, try to be nice about it. also, i forgot to add. we tried using the P05 ecu and it did the same thing. only now, no matter the ecu, it idles VERY low, shakes some, and then cuts off. Quite annoying, specially since we missed our Florida trip to do the now-unreliable swap.
