Default d16z6 Nitrous setup

Ok, new here so cut me some slack please. I have searched around quite a bit and I am pretty sure I have a so so understanding here on a nitrous setup on a stock d16z6 motor. But I still have some questions. I have a 94 civic ex 1.6 that was acquired for 600 from a friend in need of money at the time. Rock solid car none the less. 5sp, fun as hell to drive around with the windows down. As of now it has intake to the exhaust done. I have been doing mindless stuff to it to keep busy while I build up cash flow. I've cleaned the manifold, injectors, beginning of a engine re-spray to hide the ugly old parts. However, right out of the gate I DO NOT have the money to dump into a turbo. I do not need power all the time, but when the time is right it would be nice to know I have a little nut behind me when I go. So what I am looking at is a 50 shot of nitrous, a full throttle activation controller or whatever that part is. And that is it. Solid purchase on my part to get this going? I am thinking the 50 shot since I am reading everywhere do not go more then 50% HP on your engine. From what I read I guess a high flow fuel pump and higher flow injectors would be possibly the only additional items needed. Any help will be awesome.

stock injectors should be fine for a 50 or 65 but its not a bad idea to change the pump. theres a good nitrous thread in the forced induction forum with alot of info!!
if you dont know much about spray i would get the zex kit with the smart box. its the simplest kit i can think of and would be fine for a small amount of spray. i know of a couple guys using them on a 65shot,one with a d16z6 in a hatch, and he always keeps a full bottle in the trunk[it gets sprayed alot].once you get comfortable with nitrous and reading the plugs, you can up the amount.

Thanks for the response. I will look for that thread. The only thing I'm confused about is reading the plugs? What do you mean by that? And god to know you know someone running 65. I was gonna stay with 50 and maybe pop in the 75 just to see what it'll do but if I can run the 65 no need to. Ill check the other thread for sites that sell and are good but if you know any please send my way. Thanks for the help.

Ok. I found a vid on youtube about reading the plugs. I need to do my compression test first to make sure I'm good there then start shopping.

try to stay away from a dry kit, purchase a wet kit. I ran a 75 shot on my d16y8 for 4 years and never had issues. You may want to purchase 1 step colder plug.

is there going to be a power difference between the wet vs dry or just better reliability?

you have more ability to tune a wet kit, therefore, more ability to make more power, more reliably assuming you take the time to do it/tune it properly.

Wet all day, wet hits harder and will overall produce closer power numbers "e.i." a 50 wet shot will give you 50+whp..

remember for every 50shot of nitrous, retard your timing 2 degrees, whether by your dizzy or your tuning software..

If you want big torque numbers go anywhere from 6-3 inches away from the TB, if you want higher whp numbers, give the nitrous time to mix properly with the air, whether its a direct port setup or futher down the intake tube.
