ok so i put a rack and pinion in on my 95 accord and when i added fluid to it,the car turn by its self,like it will turn all the way to the left and then knock and turn to the right and this repeats over and over,what did i do wrong?i need this car to be drivable like yesterday,please help,thanks.

 

The problem is likely the rack. Did you install a new part? What are the details of the repair?

 

Sounds like the rack's valve body may be bad. That should never happen. it's pretty hard to screw up a rack and pinion install. All you do is connect the lines from the pump and refill the system. I'd return it if you can. Did you buy a remanufactured unit?

 

i got it from a junkyard bc im low on cash but i have a 30day warranty,somebody also said the lines could be crossed?????idk my buddy connected ther lines so i wouldnt know,any ideas?

 

i just rebuilt mine a few weeks ago and i think the fittings on the lines were different sizes, so you probably didn't mix them up. the front line has a long flare fitting on it and the rear is just a regular short flare nut. I know the hexes were different, front was 14mm?, and the rear was a 17mm. I doubt you crossed them. I don't think they would even thread into the opposite holes.
