runnin with no bov????
Hey, i just got done installing my greddy sohc kit, and everything seemed to go alright. The type s bov that i ordered however is still backordered, so i dont have one on the car now. I was just wondering if the car should be driven yet, or what kinda of damage would be caused. I should have it in a week or so, but really need the car now....i dunno maybe i could just stay out of boost or something......
It isn't good for the turbo in the long run, but it's not going to **** it up untill you've been running it for years like that. A lot of stock turboed cars do not have BOV's.
basically when you let off of the gas quickly or shift, the throttle plate closes and causes pressure to build up in the pipe which puts a backward force on the compressor turbine (stress). This is how it has always been explained to me, let me know if it is wrong.
