Default BOV verry quiet =(

i have two blow off valves in my possession, one is a greddy type s, and the other is an ebay type s. i am not getting the sound of blow off with either of them and was wondering if there are certain things that can cause that. my exhaust is pretty much jimmy rigged on there and its an open downpipe, could i just not have enough back pressure? the car wasnt tuned with an open downpipe and it does build boost, but it seems to build boost a lot better the higher i go in gears, its tuned at about 8 pounds.

if theres anything else i need to explain let me know thanks guys

Bad vacuum connection from the source, or some vacuum leak. Back pressure has little to do with your blow off valve working

ok thanks, yeah my greddy type s bov is supposed to be pretty loud and the ebay bov only flutters a little which im assuming is because its adjusted on hard too much. even though i build boost shouldnt it still blow off? i was lead to believe the vaccum line on the bov is only there for the boost gauge
