Icon2 OVERHEATING AND FAN PROBLEMS

i have a b16 swap in my four door..everything was running fine befor i broke the car down and replaced all of the bushings in the front..

Problem #1: when idleing fan does not come on automatically
Solution: tested fan=fan works, hot wired fan to switch, swapped all sensors and thermostat..

Problem #2: when driving temp is normal but when stopped temp rises.
Solution: ?????

I also noticed that when i took out the thermostat that was in the housing it is made different and just for s&g i tested it in a boiling put of water and it worked..

a friend said that my water pump might be going bad....

I've never done one by myself, but when working with people who have done it a few times, and it takes roughly an hour or two to change the WP. Its recommended to change the timing belt while you are in there. Honestly, if I had to do it myself, I would set aside a nice 4hr block of time, but see if you can find someone who's done it before and bribe them with some pizza. Learning is invaluable but you don't wanna learn the hard way if you don't have too (timing off, destroyed motor).
