b16a Tranny plate cover... help...

Default b16a Tranny plate cover... help...

Hey ok so we pulled out a b16a out of a wrecked car today and there is a peice missing off where the tranny meets the block in the bottom. I tried callin honda and they said there is nothing like that. I dont know what exactly it is called but from where you look you can see the flywheel i belive it is.

Flywheel inspection cover. A piece of sheet metal can be easily fabricated to replace it.

A black piece of metal held on by 3 12's and 1 14 bolt i believe..its a cover so **** doesnt get into the clutch/fly wheel area. I BELIEVE.

a lot of people drive around w/o them, but i wouldnt..

+1. I wouldn't go without and they're not that expensive from the dealer.

exactly but what is that part called? i called the dealer the guy had no idea what i was talkin about. I dont want to drive with that **** opened like that.

Thanks man... im wondering if thats the same one? I thought it looked a little more flat to me but it might be the same thing. it looks like it went over the tranny and over the oilpan also... but anwyays i'll buy it thanks again bro i appreciate it a ton!

You can use one from a 5-speed B18B or B18C, same part number. One from a B18A or a B20 will probably be the same too. No need to buy this new if you don't have to.

its not too bad of a price 18 bucks for buisness acct. and yeah its pretty messed up how long they make u wait to help u none.... thank god for honda-tech!
