Default 94 del sol b16 smoking and high idle

i have a 94 del sol with the b16a3 that came in it. its boosted on a t3 .50 trim on 9 psi. this is my problem. i had a shop put a skunk2 intake manifold on it, yeah i could have done it but im in the army and was on a field training excercise and was in the field for a week straight and i wanted it done while i was away. well, the guy did a perfect job installing it, except, he replaced the hose coming off the breather chamber with a hideous red hose. all my stuff is blue, so stupid me, i pulled this hose off and replaced it with a oe hose off of an ls motor. now, my car idles at 2200rpms, and it blows white/gray smoke out and then when it warms up, the idle fluctuates between 1100 and 2200 rpms rapidly and on a rythm, not spuratic. it blows this gray smoke like it would if i blew my head gasket, but im not losing anitfreeze and its not overheating. now let me add, im not a know it all but i know a good deal, hopefully i dont get alot of bs on here as i seem to get on my local car forum from immature jackasses. i ask please if you have knowledgeable input then please by all means offer it, but if you are just gonna say "get a b18!" then please do not post. i have a b18 itr swap on an engine stand thats being built from top to bottom, but its about 6 weeks from being completed and i still need a tranny. so i am aware that a b16 may not be a great motor, but is my daily driver for now.

here is what ive done:
-i checked the turbo to see if i blew a seal, and if i blew a seal it would be black smoke, so thats not it.
- i have checked all other vacuum lines as a vacuum leak can cause high or fluctuating idle.
- i have ensured the hose isnt collapsing or isnt kinked causing a airflow restriction.
-i have checked the coolant levels to ensure it isnt a headgasket issue.

my guess is that my hose that is off an ls motor is slightly larger due to the ls being a b18 motor and is causing air to leak in around the ends of the hose at the breather chamber. im just wanting to know if this would cause the smoke, and if not, what else would cause this kinda smoke to be coming from the exhaust, it is burning a lil more oil than normal for a vtec, and i believe the breather chamber does deal with putting oil through the engine a 2nd time before its recirculated through the system, so would this cause oil to be burned and before mentioned symptoms?
thanks for your help in advance.
