easy fix... raise the car up!

if you are bottoming out the bottom of your car, you are way too low...

Its probably your struts on your car. Your struts are farely old and stock ones dont handle lowering that well when there older. Mine bottomed out alot in the front after I lowered it, so I went out and picked up some tokico struts and havent had a problem since. But I'm only dropped 2.5front 2.25rear and if your cars dumped may be just to low as well.

Your car has to be really really low to bottom it out driving down the road. Your either hearing your struts bottom out or your upper control arms hitting your strut towers but i doubt the car itself is bottoming out. My car is fairly low and when i hit a bad bump my upper arms hit the strut towers. It makes a fairly loud bang.

is the car in your avatar yours?
if it is, you're prolly only hitting the sides of the body kit.
like Losrocket said, hard to bottom the belly of the car.

Were the bump stops cut when the springs were installed? If the bumpstops weren't them they will cause the car to bottom out easier.

"I cannot get the collar with the little tab all the way down"-

What part is that? WHat do you mean that you had to saw the brake fittings off? If I am correct, the front struts have a designated left and right side. It all depends on this metal piece that the brake line goes into to clip down....you didn't cut that off did you?

I bottom out and I don't have aftermarket struts or springs. I doesn't happen often but enough to **** me off. What sucks is that when I do get it lowered, I need to get new struts as well....more $$$$...but I'm sure it will ride SWEEET!

more than likely you're just scraping the mudflaps... it sounds a lot harsher than it really is
but if you are bottoming out the body at stock ride height you need to drive a LOT more carefully or you're gonna tear your front bumper off with it lowered

ive only dragged the body like twice (both times going really slow, up a savage curb) normally i just tear pieces of my exhaust off rather than drag the body
