Default Direct Swap?

I have heard people say to swap in a D16Z6 into a VX is a direct swap what does this mean can i just swap the engine in and do some wiring for the vtec.
Do i need to swap out trans shift linkage and axles or no. I hate to sound like a complete idiot. Just hoping to get some info

U mean a vx as in a 92-95 than yes and all linkages will work and yes ul have to wire in vtec which is simple. Youll need the vtec ecu in order for it to work though or get urs chipped.

The VTEC wiring is already there, since the VX is a VTEC-E engine. You will have to do some wiring for the O2 sensor (unless it's a California car). But if you're doing it to get more power, you should change the transmission as well. The VX/CX transmission is geared very long for fuel economy, and will be a dog for performance. There should be plenty of threads around here on H-T for more detailed info, when it comes to the wiring differences.

yes the ex trans would be the best choice and the p28 will work perfect. Vtec is just plug and play with the same engine wiring harness if the vx comes with vtec and is 92-95
