HELP ME B18c1 8000rpm+ PROBLEM ?!?!?!
I have this strange problem:
My b18c1 engine turns hard above 8000-100 rpm. The configuration is the following:
Stock intake manifold and blox intake manifold and AC autotechnic intake manifold, all with a 70mm throttle body(skunk2). (I’m not getting any results)
The engine is with CR 11.95 with Chinese header 4-1 with 2.5 inch down pipe. I have also adjustable cam gears set to int +2 ex 0. (and b18c1 stock intake dual springs + exhaust gsr springs + b16 small springs )
Ecu crome mod
intake- APExi
My questions is – why is my engine going down after turning 8000 rpm?

Did you port match your intakes to 70mm? Otherwise, that 70mm intake is doing you absolutely no good. Sounds like you're running stock cams? Probably has something to do with it...even with HC pistons, you'll need bigger cams before the motor wakes up. You've given it plenty of breathing capacity, which, given your current setup, it doesn't need.

Try plus 3 int neg2 ex on cam gears works great for me.
And try running ur fule pressed around 55psi brings the injectors to the max duty cycle which gives a much better spray paturn.

well not sure what the question is when you say why is your engine going down after 8000 rpm but if you mean why is it losing power then my question is what cams are you running if its stock gs r cams they stop making power after 7800 rpm and it falls on its face after that again if that's what your question is
Yes i agree you need to upgrade your cams and with bigger cams you need to upgrade ur valvetrain as well. If you wanna take it over 8000, get dual valve springs, retainers and valve seals. ITR cams are a good upgrade, if u wanna go bigger get some stage 2 cams.

Which is better with stage 1 or stage 2 and what to expect from them (how much power). Please help with choice Skunk2 Buddy club Crower Blox or other.. I need advice
No wonder your running stock head. Cams and valvetrain should solve your problem. State your end power goal, NA or boost before asking which cams everyone recommends as this is important to spec good cams for your application.
port match ur tb with ur intake mani, and match the intake mani to the intake ports on the head. get all new dual springs to if ur going with bigger cams. wat else do u wanna do with it? what are your power goals?
I've done this long ago. Now I just have to choose what cams and valve springs to take. My goal is 190 + whp for daily driving, the more power i get, the better
